Kero One

i've been searching and searching and searching for something to fill this music blog with. It's not that i haven't been listening to music or finding new stuff to listen to, because i have. It's that i haven't been able to find anything that's really grabbed my soul since the Meg & Dia album.

But no more~! I found it! or him :)
He goes by the name of Kero One.
His raps are honestly some of the smoothest and soothing things to listen to ever. And thats really hard to find for me, especially when it comes to American rap. Figures the fool that finally hooks me in the American rap genre is a full-blooded Korean (i think? i haven't found otherwise).
I've been hooked onto Kanye, Gym-Class Heroes, and Lupe Fiasco, and as good as they are, they're rap style is different. Faster and more harsh.

to explain it best, Kero One takes the feel of the Nujabes, and pairs it with lyrics that soothe the soul. The only frustrating thing is that i can't find his lyrics anywhere besides a few of his more mainstream hits. For the large part, Kero One is mainly underground and started off purely on his own mixing in his own home. A success story i can truly appreciate. Home-grown and not raised in this rampant music industry that is churning out artists like a machine on overtime.

And what's MOST exciting? I get to see him this saturday :) live :)
its the Epik High Map the Soul worldwide tour, and ive been so excited to see Epik High. But now i can add Kero One to that list and its gonna make saturday THAT much more bomb. ahhhhh~!!!!! i can't wait :)

now the only problem...which song of his to share...
